In San Diego, shops are busiest on Monday mornings and before holiday weekends, so a mid-week appointment gets a car seen faster. Labor rates across California vary by neighborhood and by shop type, from small independents to dealership service bays, and mobile mechanics now cover many routine jobs in the driveway. Before authorizing a repair, ask for the estimate in writing, whether the shop warranties parts and labor (12 months / 12,000 miles is common, some offer more), and whether it can provide a loaner or a shuttle. Check the listing for hours, the makes the shop works on and its Google rating, then call ahead, since walk-in capacity is limited at smaller shops.
The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. Typical hours are Open 24 hours. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach JP Mobile Auto Repair at (619) 455-0511; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, jpcoastalrepair.com.
On Google it holds a rating of 5.0 out of 5 from 10 reviews, which is a strong result for a mechanic in San Diego and suggests consistent service.
San Diego is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and San Diego follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

My car battery corroded and Jacob was able to swing by the same day! Very reasonable prices and got my car running within a couple of hours!

Jacob was honest, friendly, helpful, and went out of his way to help me save money. His price was so fair, I tipped him. And he came right to me, even had weekend availability.

Jacob truly felt nothing short of an angel when I didn’t know what was wrong with my car. It was a Sunday, a day before my flight and half a day before my car needed to get picked up to get moved out of state. I was helplessly trying different mobile mechanics to see if anyone might be available and Jacob picked up. He explained to me in full detail what had gone wrong and suggested that I get the repair done in my new state due to cheaper prices. Truly felt like someone looking out for you, on the same team as you and willing to help you out. I don’t typically write such long reviews but I’m just that grateful to him.

Jacob came to save me when I was stuck late night at an autozone. I bought a new starter and needed someone to replace it asap as my car wasn't starting and I was stuck. He showed up so fast, and did an amazing job. Hes thorough, quick, easy going, and reliable. I'd definitely recommend him to my friends and family. Thanks Jacob !!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND. HONEST & HELPFUL! My “check hybrid system” light came on in my Prius C at 6pm on Sunday evening of Memorial Day. We are visiting from LA and staying at a resort here. I called Jacob and he promptly called back. I told him what was going on and even though he has limited experience (at this time) with hybrids, he offered to do research and get back to me that evening (mind you, I called around 10:00 pm). He then texted me back and said he could come out and help diagnose the problem. He literally came out at 11 pm to the resort and ran a scan, helped clean out the hybrid air filter and reset my system. All sensors reading normally AND we can get back to LA to my mechanic. He was also super helpful with tips on what to do in case the same thing happened on the drive up to LA. I can’t say enough good things about him. I gave him double what he asked because he quite literally put my mind at ease and helped us get home.
